Transgender restrooms

Yari Collins

A federal judge in Columbus, Ohio allows transgender students to use the girls restroom. Highland Local schools don't like the idea but they can't give a good/ reasonable argument as to why they shouldn't. The schools have encountered this problem for months ever since the law passed.

I think they should be able too use the restroom where they want. If they want to be a female let them. Who am I to judge. I think the school system is wrong for not agreeing with the law. Most schools want you to be true to yourself but this is an example of them going back on their word.

  1. I agree, it's what people feel on the inside, they should be allowed to go wherever they please without being judged.

  2. This is step forward from where we were a year ago. I believe that if we keep going on this path, we can accomplish much in the realm of equality.

  4. I agree with this article, for I honestly don't care about whether transgenders use the girls or boys restroom. We all have to do the same thing in the restroom, so why does it even matter? I say let them.

  5. i mean if the person is transgender and feel weird going to the gender's restroom they were born with and not the one they feel they are then way would you want them to feel that way. just let them go to the restroom that is appropriate for them.

  10. I agree, school is a place where you're supposed to feel comfortable. I don't think it is anyone's problem where they use the restroom, it's not like they're looking at each other use the bathroom. It isn't the student's business anyways.

  11. I think that transgender people have been using the restroom that they feel comfortable in for years but we just didn't know about it. Why does the court system get to decide where we use the bathroom? I know they are trying to make laws to protect us but this is ridiculous.

  14. If somebody is true to themselves we shouldn't limit their experience if they want to live as a certain gender let those people be.

  15. I think people should just accept what gender identity a person chooses to live the rest of they're life as and I feel that restrooms shouldn't be something that people need to be concerned about. Just let them go to the bathroom. Like geez.
