A Workshop for the Disabled Burns Down -Hadassah Lai

On Monday, a fire had started in a workshop for the disabled in southwestern Germany and killed 14 people. The victims were mostly workers and one counselor. Many other people were hurt too. Although the start of the fire is still a mystery, the police has suspected that an explosion in a storage room may have been the cause. Firefighters had rushed to the scene, but they were a little bit too late. There was an assembly held for the victims' families and friends.

I think this is a very tragic accident. The fact that it was a workshop for the disabled just makes it even sadder. I found it extremely touching that the deaths only involved workers and a counselor. No disabled were killed. I think that this had happened, because the workers had risked their lives to save the disabled. This is just so sweet, and I respect them for their sacrifice.
