Two Minute Silence- Hadassah Lai

Last week, after a series of terrorist bombings, Britain decided to honor the victims by having a two minute silence. This is the first time Britain has ever done something like this. In London, the mayor requested everybody come out of their houses and buildings and be completely silent for two minutes. The only movement that was executed was the wiping of tears for loved ones and victims. People in Leed, a Muslim country, held up signs that said "Islam Wants Peace". The Queen herself stepped out of Buckingham Palace -the first time she has ever done such a thing- and also participated in the two minute silence too. Many officials delivered moving speeches.
I think that England has done a very honorable thing, and I respect them for it. It is very moving to see a whole country itself caring about people and taking the time to honor victims. This is a very important event and I think that not only England should do this, but the whole world. Hopefully this would show the terrorists that what they have done has affected us greatly and they have hurt many people and hearts.

  2. What an honorable thing for London and England to do. Terrorism is a large and serious issue. What is the purpose of killing innocent strangers? I wish countries or groups of people could find a way to discuss their problems instead of resulting to terrorist attacks.
