Apple to hit $1 Trillion – Margaret Canady

Mark your calendars for April 9, 2015. Some statisticians and investors believe this is a conservative estimate for when Apple could become the first company ever to be valued at $1 trillion dollars. Other analysts have the date set for less than a year from now: August 16, 2013.

As of Friday, September 21, Apple’s value was $656 billion. While no one can be sure of the trillion dollar date, everyone can agree that Apple is a massive empire that has succeeded in almost every field it has expanded into.  From music players, cellphones, computers and laptops, Apple has been at the top of the pack.

The other possibility is that Apple never reaches 1 trillion; Nokia and Microsoft are just 2 examples of big companies that suddenly lost their “mojo”, peaking but never reaching the mark. Even if Apple does not enter any new product categories, they could reach $1 trillion just by doubling their sales. They are in line to do so, too: with the iPhone 5, Macs, and oversea sales, Apple just keeps getting better and better.

I’ve always admired Apple; a company that started out in a garage and worked its way to the top, its an icon that can inspire people and small businesses all over the globe. They’ve gathered a huge following of people who are smitten with every new product and innovation that comes out. They make you want something you didn’t even realize you needed. I wish them the best of luck climbing to the $1 trillion dollar mark, and like the rest of the world, I’ll be waiting for the next big thing they come out with.

  1. We don't need any more Apple in our lives. This is just my opinion, I value yours so I should receive the same. I'm just thinking they sell over-priced-iDevices and computers. I feel like they rip you off with the iPhones. They make a new one every 2 or so years so everyone with an old one will buy the new one. Why? Because they're too lazy to have the old ones upgraded to the new iOS. and they obviously want to rip you off. I don't know. I'm good with my Android. #TeamAndroid. They receive updates, and if your Android is really old, there are a lot of online communities that have software updates for free and it's totally LEGAL because Google is open-source. Is this comment too geeky? Yeah, I'm a cell phone nerd. Sorry, I'm not sorry.

  2. That is ridiculous..... but not necessarily in a bad way!! Mr. Jones told us today that 1 trillion dollars, if all in $1 stacked up, would reach from earths surface to the moon!! However, they are succeeding in the market today but what would happen to apple if the economy completely changed? They would just loose all their money and become bankrupt? Then what? SO while it's awesome they are succeeding now, who knows what the future brings for them?

  3. I can't believe that Apple can really get any bigger. They need to give other companies a chance. They are becoming a monopoly, and I can't take much more. They are always coming out with new products, and I can't keep up.

  5. It's true, Apple is a GIGANTIC company. They dominate in almost every new field they decide to enter. And while I agree that all the buzz they get for every new product may be a bit over the top, Apple really does deserve it. They consistently make good quality products that completely change the field. They've created a name for themselves, and they deserve the company they've built.

    1. I disagree. Their products are almost all the same. There's not too much difference between the original iPhone and the iPhone 5 except a bigger screen and its actually being developed because they almost force you to upgrade to a new device.

  6. Apple doesn't necessarily force you upgrade to a new device, but There are people out there that will camp out a week before the new iPhone comes out just to get it, even if they just got the most recent one. Apple really is an amazing company and im amazed at how far they've gotten even without their original leader leading the way.~#RIPSteveJobs~ Even though they do you rip you off sometimes( the new iPhone 5 plug) they're business men and they have to make a living somehow. And life isn't always fair so some people just need to suck it up and enjoy life to the fullest
