Teen Gets Support From Town After Homecoming Prank- Rian Pettit

Whitney Kropp, a sophomore in high school, is getting support from her small town in Michigan after a cruel prank was pulled on her. Kropp was voted to be on her school's homecoming court as a prank. Whitney was humiliated after finding out on September 13th, that her selection was a joke.

"She was getting ridiculed in school and on Facebook," Kropp said. "But then," Kropp added, "other kids started coming up to her and saying, 'Whitney, don’t let them stop you from going to homecoming. You need to go ahead, you need to do it'."

Local business are pitching in to pay for Whitney's dress, dinner, shoes, and tiara for the dance. Whit’s End Salon in West Branch styled Whitney's hair for the dance. Others are giving things such as encouraging words to Whitney for support.

Bullying is wrong whether it's physical or verbal, it's good anytime someone can pitch in and lend a helping hand to stop bullying.

  1. Kids are getting crueler and meaner. It should not matter whether we are different or special, because thats what makes us unique. That should be celebrated not ridiculed.
