"Dr Pepper's Evolution Ad Strikes A Nerve With Some Christians" By:Sydney Magnall

Dr. Pepper has put out a new add that has to do with evolution. It shows and ape then a human/ape then a human. The human ape has discovered Dr.Pepper. This add has upset many people who believe in creationism. Creationists don't like "the idea that humans evolved from soda-discovering apes." One creationist says, "I ain't no freaking chimp. No more Dr Pepper for my household." Others say the add is funny. The question of "does this work as a marketing tool?" Is asked. Marketers use ways that catch peoples attention and stand out. This has definitely caught peoples attention! Dr. Pepper is not the only one who has used marketing techniques that offend peoples religions. Burger Kind put a goddess on top of their hamburgers which offended Hindus and McDonalds offended Muslims when their power ranger toy had squiggly lines that looked like it spelled Muhammed in Arabic. I the end of all of the controversy, I think that it is a somewhat good marketing technique even though I believe in Creationism because it has caught my attention as well as many others i am sure.

  2. I think that anyone who takes any part off the add designed to make you want to buy it seriously has to much time on their hands, and shouldn't think about it to much.

  3. If the add has caught people's attention, it has certainly done it's job. Also, I don't think Dr. Pepper is trying to offend anybody.

  4. I see how it can upset some people with the idea of evolution, but in retrospect it really isn't THAT offensive. Our world is very diverse and the fact that not everyone believes in creationism should tell people that the world doesn't have just one thought. I also believe in creationism, but I don't find that advertisement at all offensive. We are all entitled to our own opinion and the freedom of speech as well.

  5. There's always someone getting offended at something...

    It's ridiculous, but oh well.

  6. This is ridiculous. It's just an add. Dr. Pepper was not trying to offend anyone.
