A 24- year old Ukrainian woman named Valeria Lukyanova has recreated herself in the image of barbie. She says that besides breast implants, contacts, and make-up, she has no procedures done to create her look. Olga "Dominica" Oleynik and Anastasiya Shpagina are also Ukrainian barbie look-alikes (although Anastasia is claimed to be more "anime-like") and these girls' names are linked because of it. Valeria says: she can contact people from other planets and civilizations using out-of-body experiences, she has a husband but won't tell if he's human or not, she wants to be able to reach a level where she can survive alone by air and light, and she thinks her appearance is a very spiritual thing.
Anastasiya is considering getting eye surgery to make her eyes bigger and more doll-like so she doesn't have to spend so much time of makeup. Every day, she makes herself look like one of her favorite anime/manga characters
Reaction to Valeria (and Olga): I think that this is ridiculous and isn't worth it, and most importantly, WHERE ARE HER PARENTS?! Who would let their child do such things as this?! I think she is really cray for doing this, she has problems. No one can survive on light and air except for plants, but that is only because they go through photosynthesis. This is really scary to me too, because it's not natural to look like Barbie. I, myself, hated barbie as a child, I preferred the sass of Bratz, to the cheer of Barbie.
Reaction to Anastasiya: This is way too far for anyone to take their love for anime. Having a closet and bookshelf full of manga, magazines, character cutouts, a cosplay collection, and having your HOUSE set up like your favorite character's house is less drastic than rearranging your body like the character too.
Overall reaction: It's not worth it and you'll just decompose like the rest of us when you're dead, which won't be long if Valeria keeps her diet and exercise up like she's doing. Is it just me, or is it a coincidence that they are all Ukranian? What is the Ukraine doing with their teenagers?
Why would someone do this?
ReplyDeleteI think this is stupid. Obviously she has some mental issues if she thinks she isn't completely human, and wants to live off of air and light. That's clearly not going to work. I don't know what kind of attention she's hoping to gain by doing this, but personally, I wouldn't like the attention she's getting right now.
