9/11 Memorial costing $60 Million Dollars a Year by Sydney May

The article, "9/11 Memorial $60 Million Dollars a Year to Operate", written by David B. Caruso and David Porter from Associated Press is about how a beautiful memorial for an event that sacrificed many is taking an unbelievable amount of money to operate yearly. The entire thing took $700 million to complete, and to make everything run smoothly day after day, another $60 million will be needed each year. One fifth of this price will be devoted to the security, which is understandable: "The fact of the matter is this was a place that was attacked twice." says Joseph Daniels. One of the ways that they are planning to make this work is the museum devoted to the people who died during this tragic event. Portraits of these individuals will be displayed in the museum. If the tickets are about $12 each, and 2 million people come each year, then about 40 percent of the costs taken care of. The other 60 percent would come from fundraisers and other things.
This articles was written by David B. Caruso and David Porter from Associated Press, and it was last updated on September 9, 2012. I did not know much about this currently, so this was a shocking read. This article was written for all audiences, as it's purpose is to inform people of current happenings. It's incredible that this could cost so much every single year, but after all, it's for a good cause, and its all worth it in the end.
