Dr. Mostafa Hefny runs from race. Most people consider their race obvious, but the U.S. in Hefny's opinion has blocked choice of his own race. When filling out forms or a simple test, you always have that one question; -Identify Race-. Most people get the choice to fill their own little "Race Bubble", but Hefny had already been classified as "White". Hefny is of Egyptian/Black heritage and when came to the U.S. in 1978. Hefny's "Race Bubble" was already filled out for him, he was classified as"White". "White" is described in the U.S. as one who is of European, North African, or Middle East descent. Why would the U.S. Census consider Dr. Hefny as the race "white"? Cleopatra herself was not classified as "white". As the article quotes; "Cleopatra's race is in the lens of how you see it." Shouldn't our own race be viewed on how we ourselves see it? Based on my opinion, this whole race of controversy is quite unsettling. The U.S. is supposed to be a home of free thought and free will, will our races be held from us? Concluding this Blog Post; Dr. Mostafa Hefny, a man of Egyptian/African descent is beginning a petition for the "The Association of Black Egyptian, Ethiopian, and Nubian Advocates" to fight for the choice of your own race. Hefny's count of petitions currently are 188 signatures.

I agree with this Hefny guy! You should be allowed to have the right to choose your own race instead of having others define your race based on where you came from.
