Discrimination Against a Teen, Who Can't Even Defend Himself. (How Low Can People Get???)

Last Sunday, an airport restricted Beatty Vanderhorst, a young boy of sixteen to fly on the plane, despite him already having a ticket to board. Why? Well, it was because he had Down syndrome. (If you don't know what that this, Google is your friend.) This is a clear case of discrimination.
The mother of Beatty had captured the incident with her phone, as the flight attendant approached her. In the video, you can see Beatty just.... Sitting there, waiting like any teenager would regularly do. Also, you can hear his mother sobbing. And the surprising thing is, is that Beatty had flown with his parents two dozen times in the past. The problem now? The family had upgraded to first class.
Here is what American Airlines had to say:

They said that Beatty was, and I quote: "agitated and running through the gate area," and "We made the decision to have the family rebooked on a different flight out of concern for the young man's safety and the safety of others."

After that, American Airlines had flown them back, but all the way in the back of the plane, so that they could have room, and some privacy.

This is full of @#$%. Discrimination is discrimination, no matter how hard one tries to sugarcoat it. >:O

Here is a video of the interview with the parents.

  2. That's not right. He doesn't look like he was causing trouble and he was doing things he normally did when waiting, but they made a huge fuss about it once they upgraded to first class. Then they stuck him and his family in the back of a plane. I don't uderstand.

  4. This is just goes to show how cruel the world can be. This reminds me of the story where the woman couldn't get on the plane because of her weight. :/

  5. This world can be quite dark and people can be extremely ugly to others. I am so disappointed in the staff at American Airlines, they have absolutely no excuses to discriminate against a person like that, it's just not right. It is wrong and unlawful. Your article was well said, thank you for sharing. Also, the video was very helpful. Much appreciated.

  6. That is seriously messed up. Personally i feel that they violated his right as a citizen of the U.S. He had every right to get on that plane.
