GO ANDY!- Or in other words, Murray makes history by Kendall Ray

Today, exciting things in history took place. A native Scotland man by the name of Andy Murray beat the decorated Novak Djokovic for the title of 2012 Men's Final US Open Champion. Now most would think (unless you are a tennis buff), "What's so special about that?". Well, I'll have you know that Andy Murray is the first Britain in 76 years to win a Grand Slam title.
This match in particular tied the longest US Open game in history lasting 4 hours and 54 minutes. It also included astounding rallys with one containing 55 hits and a 24 minute first set tie-breaker. I can only imagine what the players' lungs must've felt like after that. With winds at up to twenty miles per hour the two 25-year-olds only one week apart fought like mad dogs.
After much sweat, tears and enough swings of the arms to last you a lifetime, the incredible match came to an end. Murray had emerged victorious, and fell to his knees in pure joy, even MORE tears were shed, but this time they was from happiness.

Here, Andy Murray is seen holding his well deserved trophy: Murray is the first British man to win a Grand Slam title since Fred Perry in 1936.

  1. Congratulations to Andy Murray and Great Britain! They must be very proud of their tennis superstar: now he's won an Olympics tennis medal as well as a Grand Slam title. Can't wait until next year.
