Obama attacks Medicare, Oblivious to unemployment issues-Nina Bharadwaj

President Barack Obama, stated a study that the Romney-Ryan plan to save Medicare will severely increase the costs for future beneficiaries, which distracts him from commenting on unemployment reports. According to Obamas' report, middle aged people would pay an additional 6,000 dollars or more per year, and it will cost more for younger Americans. Obama did not discuss the unemployment rate. In addition Romney's plan could raise health costs on an average middle aged women by reinstating limits on prescription coverage.  This study was conducted by David Cutler. Obama believes that they temporarily forced Romney to stop stating that the economy was sluggish by raising the issues of Medicare.  Although, Romney and Ryan contradicted Obama by saying that Obama was cutting billions of dollars in Medicare spending over 10 years to pay for his health care plan. It is unclear whether either side gained anything from this, but it did take Romney off of his economic focus.
This article was written to show how Obama is distracting citizens from unemployment by talking about Medicare because Romney-Ryan have been attacking Obama about unemployment. The study that David Cutler did, was meant to show bias towards Obama. I personally believe that both politicians are trying to attack each other, while hiding the true issues. I am not bias towards either candidate, but the public need to learn about each politicians' beliefs to make the most educated choice on voting day.

  1. un employment is a relative process that takes time. although healthcare eliminates jobs, all major countries have a national health care system. there is no reason not to vote for obama and that is a fact that most republicans do not want to admit.
