On September 8th, Tim Lister (from CNN) wrote an article called "The driest season: Global drought causes major worries". Since we live in Texas, we have always been accustomed to the hot, dry weather, but now that has spread across the world. Not only has it spread, but it has become more severe too. This article is written as a warning to everyone that the climate is changing. Even President Obama said: "More droughts and floods and wildfires are not a joke. They're a threat to our children's future". The three United Nations agencies also warned this week that something needs to be done quickly, or price shocks will affect many people in the coming months. The article's purpose is not to tell you the little things that you can do to help (like most articles); it is to warn you of what's yet to come.
Over all, Lister writes about how droughts are affecting the world. He includes multiple warnings from various people to prove his point. His point being that our climate is most definitely changing. He also explains how our changing climate will affect us now and in the long run. For example, how prices are going up for crops. He too explains how we desperately need to find a way to make water go much farther due to our increasing population. In the end, he makes the reader face the fact that we do indeed need "Miracle Results".
