Construction workers are bulding a 41- mile toll road with an 85 mph speed limit in Texas. It travels from Austin towards San Antonio. Chris Lippincott, an official who works with the State Highway 130 Concession Co., claims that it is safe to travel at this speed on the toll road. Most of the highway is built and will probably be finished before the end of this year. A year ago, the Texas Legislature passed a law that allowed 85 mph speed lmits to be safe. Currently, the only states with speed limits of  80 mph are Texas and Utah. Some people disagree with this really fast speed and say that it could "lead to more fatal accidents." Darren McDaniel says, "The more people we can get to travel a uniform speed, the safer are the conditions that will exist." This is his theory. Officials want to have the hope that there will be more motorists who will want take the toll road, so that there will be less congestion on the highway.
