On September 10th, 2012 at approximately 1:00am Peter Beinart published an articled titled "The Ghost of George W. Bush". Now, Peter Beinart has written several articles for major Newspapers and Magazines, and even wrote a book titled "The Crisis of Zionism". Peter Beinart is relatively known to have a non biased opinion on certain things, and a very biased opinion on others. This article however, he seemed to capture that very biased attitude, while relating to all viewers and audiences in the United States.
Before reading this article I had a vague idea of what it would be about. I honestly do not know why it captured my attention, but the title was very captivating. The article basically states that George Bush is the reason why Republicans do not have a fair shot at winning the election. Apparently they do not have an equal shot this year, or any year, since he "ruined" the economy and the United States. Peter Beinart states that "One day, a Republican presidential candidate will exorcise Bush’s ghost. But most likely, he or she will do so by bluntly telling Americans where Bush’s presidency went wrong, and how their presidency will be different. Until that happens, George W. Bush will be present at every Republican and Democratic convention for years to come, whether anyone invites him or not. "
The main idea of this article is that each president leaves an impression on the public and the voters. With this impression it effects how we vote for the next election. I definitely think this is a great article for everyone to read whether your Republican or Democratic because it shows how The government isn't always about politics, but mainly about perception. This article can effect us in several ways, and help us make the right decision when we vote no matter what others think.

Personally, I believe that neither candidate has made a great impression on anyone. They are both just attacking each other, while avoiding true issues affecting our country.
