Extreme Weather in Ukraine by: Rachel Devine

In the past week, extremely low temperatures in Ukraine have killed 83 people and caused hundreds of people to recieve treatment for hypothermia and frostbite. Authorities in Ukraine have set up nearly 2,800 "heating points" to help people across the country stay warm. Arctic air has kept temperatures in Ukraine's capital, Kiev, below the average for a week now. At 1.4 degrees fahrenheit, many are suffering. The forecasters predict that the temperatures won't improve over the next few days. It was recorded that more than 110 people died in Ukraine last winter because of the cold weather. Hopefully the death toll won't rise anymore.

I can't imagine how cold it must be for the people living in Ukraine. I hope they stay warm and that no more people will have to suffer more than they already have.
