Gun Debates in the US by Cruz Rendon

After the recent shooting in Connecticut that impacted the world, senators Mark Warner and Joe Manchin think action should be taken of the matter. They think it isn't acceptable to own the weapons at certain times. They want the tragedies to end. 20 children were killed in the shooting. Does anyone else agree that extra measures should be taken? Even at school we aren't safe. If we aren't safe at school then we aren't safe anywhere.

  1. I agree that they need to step up the security in the schools so people like the shooter know they won't be able to get away with this anymore.

  2. Connecticut has one of the strictest laws on gun control. Gun control is not the big problem; while it may be discussed and changed, it will not prevent shootings to occur. The people crazy enough to do stuff like this will find a way to get guns. The problem that needs to be addressed NOW is our nation's approach to mental illnesses. Something needs to happen where those with mental illnesses are spotted, treated, helped.
