Ireland is wanting to claim a law on abortian due to the recent death of a woman and her baby. The law is stated to be that abortions are permissible when the life but not health of the mother is at risk! Many were touched by this, and feel that it is necessary to have a choice at times like that. The woman asked for an abortion during the miserable pain she was going through, but due to the heavy Catholic area, the hospital did not allow her to do so. They didn't believe in getting an abortion if the baby is alive, but allowable if the baby was dead. In result, the woman lost her life, as well as the child. I find this article to be touching and an eye opener to those mothers who choose to get abortions for other reasons. I don't necessarily think abortions are okay, only at times like these! Only because a loss of a child is not only sad and tragic, but doing it out of uncertainty isn't okay. Many mothers can't control the way there process of giving birth goes, but if it's life risking the mother should have a choice. In this case, the mother and baby didn't make it through. This law wanting to be passes in Irelane is very important and should be handled quickly before another case like this happens.

  1. I feel so bad that this woman lost her life. I think women should always have the choice of whether they want an abortion or not!

  2. The hospital knew tht the child would be lost, but they didn't let the mother have an abortion because of the law.

  3. I also think that women should choose whether they want an abortion or not. This women could have survived, and it would have been one less loss of a life, if she had been given the right to an abortion. I don't think that abortions are okay if the mother has no reason for it, but if the mom is truly suffering, like this one was, than the hospital should allow it. I can't believe that the hospital could just let this women suffer and deny her of the right to an abortion, even though her life could have been saved. It isn't right.
