Prank Call Gone Wrong -Hadassah Lai

Australian radio hosts, Mel Greig and Michael Christian had made a devastating mistake by prank calling the hospital in which the royal Duchess is staying in for morning sickness. The two hosts had called the hospital disguising their voices in "funny", high pitched voices. They had expected to be hung up on right on the spot, but instead, they were took on by surprise as nurse Jacintha Saldanha put them through to the Duchess' room. This had obviously caused a huge riot, causing the nurse to commit suicide on Friday. After finding out this devastating news, the two radio hosts were shocked. People all throughout the world were angered and had found their facebooks and personal social pages. Many posts and letters were blaming the two hosts of their dreadful mistakes and how they must make it up to the family. Many said that blood was on their hands, and they were responsible for Saldanha's death. The two hosts were then interviewed on Australian news, and they were both heartbroken, and not emotionally strong enough to face the nurse's family. They both had broken down in tears claiming that they had meant the prank to be harmless. Obviously, it was not.

I find it overly dramatic that the nurse had killed herself. It was not her fault, and she could proven herself innocent at the end. The two radio hosts that had caused all of this, however, must be extremely ashamed of themselves and this event will be in their lives forever. They are very immature, and although I am assured that they had meant no harm, I still think that they did not fully think of the consequences at the end. This is a very useful lesson for all of us to learn.

I think she made a big deal about it. She didn't have to kill her self.

  3. This shows how seriously people can take prank calls, even if it is just for fun.
