Killer Coliding Ships! By Madeline Ibarra

On Wednesday evening of December 5th, a cargo ship and a car carrying ship collided off of the coast of the Netherlands in the north Sea. After the collision, the car carrying ship, the Baltic Ace, began to sink. The car carrier suffered only minor damage and was able to make it to shore before taking on too much water. From the Baltic Ace, thirteen crew members were rescued and suffered from hypothermia and minimal damage. Sadly, there were at least four know deaths and seven other people missing. The search for the other people and bodies was called of Thursday evening. passing ships have been notified to keep a look out for floating objects or any survivors.

I honestly don't know why these two ships happened to collide with each other. Maybe there was a problem with the mapping or tracking of other near by ships. What ever caused this accident is tragic. I hope that they find the missing people alive, and if not, at least are able to return their bodies home.
