A man who left the Hotel Vila-real Palace in Villarrealsin, Castellón, without paying the 1,796 € bill has been sent to prison for a year. The court did not accept the man’s appeal against the sentence which condemned him for a crime of fraud. According to the sentence the man had the money necessary to pay when he checked in to the hotel on August 30th 2007, but not the intention to do so. He enjoyed his room until September 10th and left without speaking to any of the hotel staff.
This is really crazy to me. Somebody that had the money to pay for a hotel room they checked into, didn't because they didn't feel like it!?!? So you have a year in jail for something you don't feel like doing, but you can. People can be so crazy sometimes.

Why didn't he just pay the bill? I think he deserves a year in jail.

ReplyDeleteThis is stupid. He should have paid it! He knew there would be some kind of consequence, right? Or he just thought he could get away from paying 1,796 euros. WOW. people these days.
