Mountaineer Dies at 93 by Sylvie Lednicky

This Friday, Maurice Herzog, a mountaineer from France died at 93.  He was the first person to climb Annaourna in the Himilayas in June 1950. He lost several fingers and toes during the expedition due to frostbite, but he said that it was all worth it. In 1958, he became the French minister for youth and sport. Also, he was mayor of Chamonix from 1966 to 1977. I think it is great that he found so many ways to contribute to society, I hope that I can do the same someday. Herzog will be dearly missed buut never forgotten.

  2. He was able to do some much for himself and help others. He really made a positive impact on our and past generations.
