Grace Biltz - Week 9 Post

Art can make a difference! An art piece named the "Smog Free Project," made by Dutch artist Daan Roosegaarde, is actually an extra-large air purifier. Right now it is "cleaning that air" in a park in Beijing, China.
The piece acts like a vacuum and is powered by wind energy. It not only attracts smog particles, but it also compresses the smog particles into small "jewels." These jewels can be used to make rings and cuff links.
Roosegaarde wants to motivate others to think about the causes of pollution and creative ways to address it. He plans to build more towers and install them in many other cities.

I think this "Smog Free Project" is a creative way to help purify and clean the air. I think it is amazing how it is powered by wind energy. Also, it is great how we can recycle these smog particles and use them it a non-pollutant way like making jewelry.
