#thisis2016 Asian Americans vs. Racist Encounters

A New York Times editor Micheal Luo started the social media trend #thisis2016 after receiving a racist remark from a middle aged woman. He tweeted about his experience and ended it with this hashtag. It is used to document racist remarks different Asian Americans have faced. It has gained a lot of popularity since it first was introduced about a week ago.

  2. I think it's good people are taking small steps. The woman should think before she speaks.
