Facebook recently released and is selling a new social media program called "Workplace." It is specifically marketed to anyone, emphasizing that work oriented social media isn't just for rich, white collared entrepreneurs. I don't see how this is necessary at all, so, I choose to interpret it as evidence that Facebook is now so large that it can just throw money at whatever projects seem sort of interesting.

This is just another attempt by a failing enterprise to salvage whatever presence they have in the industry by targeting a kinda new demographic

I agree with Logan, it seems like they're just desperately trying to pull themselves back into popularity.
