The Category 1 hurricane was dropping 8 to 20 inches of rain in the Tar Heel State and southeast Virginia. One thousand people in North Carolina have been rescued, some in dramatic helicopter operations, and 3,000 people are still living in shelters, authorities said Sunday. More than 700,000 people still lack electricity. 10 people have been killed so far, just in South Carolina.
This is extremely frighting to me because I have many family members on the direct path of this hurricane and they have been forced to evacuate their homes. I hope this ends soon so people can be safe and go back home.
I agree and I wish that there was a way to be completely safe from natural disasters.
