Hurricane Makes Landfall By: Zaria Chambers

On Wednesday, October 24, 2012 Kingston Jamaica was hit by a Hurricane Sandy. High winds, extreme flooding, and massive amounts of rain pounded Kingston, Jamaica. The bad part about this storm is that it is headed for Cuba and then possibly Florida and the Bahamas. Although this storm is very dangerous only two  people have been reported dead. In Southern Jamaica crocodiles were found in the flooding waters. One big croc was found in a family's front yard. This was the first direct hit hurricane on Jamaica since Hurricane Gilbert which was 24 years ago. Some people decided to move into a shelter until the hurricane passed while others chose not to evacuate from their homes because they were afraid that their belongings would be stolen.

This article was written by Collin Reid. This article was written to inform the reader on the massive hurricane that hit Jamaica. I already knew that the article was going to be about a hurricane because of the title. This article has a positive impact on readers. There really isn't anything that's negative about this article.

  1. I hope that people decide to evacuate their homes. I mean it is terrible that their things would get stolen, but I would rather them get stolen than have to face this deathly hurricane. I hope that no one else dies from this hurricane. Lately, I have been hearing about so many disasters and I am just sad to keep hearing about people dying. I hope that people decide to evacuate because it is the safest decision.
