Sandy Strikes Haiti: Amanda Kipp

For the past four days, the rains from Hurricane Sandy have drenched the south and southwest area of Haiti. The total number of deaths was 52 but this tremendous storm also led to demolished houses and ruined crops. According to the government up to 200,000 homes were damaged and there are still 400,000 people are still homeless due to the earthquake in 2010. In addition, Haiti also had a cholera outbreak only ten months after the earthquake! All of these events are worsening an alreadly suffering country. Before all of these occurences Haiti already had been having problems with poverty and slums, these things are just adding to the problems of Haiti. It seems as is nothing is going well for Haiti right now. I am praying for everybody living there and hopefully this struggling country will not continue to be beaten down by natural disasters. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/10/30/world/americas/yet-another-blow-to-haiti-from-hurricane-sandy.html?ref=world&_r=0
