441 new animal species discovered in the Amazon since 2010 by Josie Blossfeld

Summary: In the span of just three years, 441 new animal species have been discovered in the Amazon, which spans over 8 different countries. There have been 258 plants, 84 fish, 58 amphibians, 22 reptiles, 18 birds, and one mammal found. Roughly 1 in 10 species found in the Amazon are found anywhere else on Earth.

Analysis: These animals are a great discovery for mankind. It's hard to believe, but there are so many different species we still have yet to discover in the rain forest. It's important to keep our rain forests safe so that these species will not become extinct. It makes me sad to think of all the animal species we have already lost! It's amazing that so many were found in just 3 years.

  3. I love this discovery because it shows just how much humanity still has to discover about our planet.Sometmes, those humans think they know everything about everything which swells their heads. It's good to have discoveries like these pointed out so they can be brought back into reality.
