World Cup is heating up! By Madelyn Winkelman

On Saturday the 26th  the Arena Pantanal caught fire in the lower levels of the stadium. The Arena Pantanal is one of twelve stadiums that is used for the World Cup in Brazil and is currently under heavy construction. No one was harmed in the fire and workers are confident this wont set them back for their deadline, which is December 31. The workers believe that the Styrofoam that incased the lower levels of the arena was like a fuel to the fire which is why it spread so rapidly, but they believe that the only thing that needs to be fixed is the electrical wiring of the stadium.

I'm glad nobody was hurt and that the fire didn't engulf a larger portion of the stadium. But I must admit its very ambitious of them to still think they can finish the Arena Pantanal by December 31. I hope all goes according to plan, because lets be honest I am eagerly awaiting a new Shakira song! ;)
