School Shooting by Zoey Crummey

Another tragic school shooting has occurred, this time at a middle school in Sparks, Nevada. Two students were injured, one teacher was killed, and the shooter then committed suicide. The teacher who was killed had been protecting other classmates from the child with the gun. The math teacher was also a former Marine, Michael Landsberry. The students returned today after the end of their fall break, and will have the rest of the week off. The shooting came as a huge shock to the people of the community. "It's not supposed to happen here. We're just Sparks - little Sparks, Nevada. It's unreal."

In my opinion this is a truly tragic event. It seems like every week there has been a new shooting, whether it's at another school, a mall, or a movie theater. When will people understand that the only way to eliminate this HUGE problem is to cut it off from the beginning- outlaw guns. Our nation is never going to improve on this issue if we continue to have guns legalized. You always hear stories like this and think "This will never happen to me." But it could. And that's the scariest thing out of all of this mess.
