Oakland Fire - Lauren Rothert

On December 2nd, a large fire erupted in a warehouse filled with people at a dace party. 33 people have been confirmed dead, and 70% of the building is still left to be searched. Sources say the tragedy is tremendous, and loved ones have been encouraged to keep items containing DNA to speed up identification procedures. After the fire was extinguished, firefighters were still not able to search, due to possible danger. The roof of the warehouse collapsed onto the second floor, and parts of the second floor collapsed on the first. Search and rescue parties are being cautious due to falling debris, and the possibility of the whole building collapsing.

This is terrible news, the poor citizens gathered in the warehouse had no expectations of a fire. They were having a party, nothing seemed to be out of hand. My only question is; what started the fire? I am hoping no one at the party caused it, and it was simply an electrical fire or something similar. The families of these people will have no closure for a few days, and that also saddens me. I hope in the future we can avoid tragedies like this one.

  1. I concur. I hope no one started the fire. Hopefully the police will find the reason for this tragedy.

  2. I really hope that nobody accidentally or intentionally started this fire because the guilt of that would be unbearable since it killed 33 people, just as of now. I hope the families learn how to cope with this tragedy.

  3. I agree that i hope this fire was not caused by someone and was caused by something else. I pray for the families of those who were lost.

  4. I hope the fire was accidental as well, and the building gets fixed from those problems that caused it. If a person caused it then shame on them because it's really not fair to take people's lives especially if you didn't know them.
