Elizabeth McCullough- Trump's Cabinet Diversity, or Lack Thereof

Synopsis- President elect Donald Trump is currently waiting more a majority of his cabinet choices to be approved. If his current picks are accepted, he will a majority of white men in his cabinet. His top four positions are all white males, something that hasn't been seen since 1989. There are minorities in some of the smaller positions, but his team is still primarily composed of white men. None of his choices are Hispanic or Latino, and he has only one African American pick. He does however have three women of color.

Analysis- This does not surprise me at all. Trump's xenophobic nature more than foreshadowed such. He is a rich white man, who surrounds himself with other rich white men. It's just human nature. But the fact that it is 2016 and there is only one African American, and absolutely no Hispanic officers it just outrageous. I believe it reflects the nature of the entirety of his future presidency.

Synthesis: This synthesizes to the cabinet of George H.W. Bush, the last cabinet to have four white men as the most powerful positions. It goes to show how little we have grown decades later.
