For months protesters have camped out and publicly stated their distaste for the pipelines in North Dakota. These protests go against the planned construction of these pipelines due to the fact that their route is intended to go onto a Native American site of the Standing Rock Tribe. However, on December 4 at 8:01 p.m. it was announced that federal officials will not provide a permit for the construction of these pipes to continue. While both Native Americans and all other activists who participated in these famous protests rejoice in their victory, others are concerned that the reign of President-elect Donald J. Trump will reverse what has happened and possibly grant a permit. (Due to its strain on the business installing and now having to relocate these pipes which will cost 3.7 billion dollars). But some still want to savor the victory while they can, especially after this victory was an incredible example of protest and what such passionate participants can achieve. Especially when they are fighting for what they believe in despite all odds.
