Albino People Being Murdered-Kennedi Mayes

In Tanzania, Albino people are thought to be good luck, that is when they're dead. Certain parts of their bodies are deemed to be good for luck and used in witch craft. There are a lot of Albino's being hunted and killed now because of this. Though a group of  albino activists are trying to put an end to this discrimination and murder. Josephat Torner, one of the activists, is trying to end this injustice at where he thinks the source of all the rumors is coming from. He believes the witch doctors are responsible for telling people albino body parts will bring fortune and good luck. When he asks one of them why they believe the albinos should be killed, the witch doctor responds; "We call you a spirit because a white person like you is the devil." Torner clarifies what the witch doctor is trying to say by asking; "You're saying I'm a white demon? We are demons?" and the witch doctor responds  "Yes, because you're white."

I think attitudes like this need to be stopped as soon as possible. In such a country as Tanzania, where tradition thrives, it's quite hard to stop the discrimination. All they know is what is passed down to them and they judged based on what their ancestors saw. Hopefully, the thought process of these peoples will be turned around and albinos can come out of hiding and lives their lives happily.
