Thirty-Three People Die When a Bus Falls Into the Indian River By: Nina Bharadwaj

At a minimum, thirty-three people were found dead as an over-populated bus fell into a river in northern India. Local police official, R.S. Neigi stated "So far, thirty-three bodies have been retrieved from the river and 14 other people are injured and have been rushed to the hospital." He quoted this at the site of the catastrophe. Negi also predicted that the amount of deaths would increase because some victims may have been washed away in this river. It is very fast flowing and winds its way through the mountains in India, so their chance of survival is slim to none.
This disaster took place close to the popular attraction called the summer resort of Kullu. It is 250 kilometers from the Himachal Pradesh territory capital (Shimla). The officer also said that the amount of citizens among the board were unknown. Many local people living near the accident said that when the bus crashed it ended up drowning under water, completely unseen.
This crash happened on Wednesday. It is the most tragic crash that has happened since thirty-seven people died after a bus fell off of a bridge in a river in Maharashtra, the western Indian state.
Analysis: The author of this article is not available, but I believe that he/she wrote this to inform us around the world about a tragic catastrophe that has happened in India. It may also be a caution to us as well as others around the world about how to be more careful so that more accidents like this don't happen. The article is written to mostly older people such as young adults because they are people that are more likely to take caution of buses. The main idea of this article is that a bus crashed into a river in northern India, causing thirty-three people to die. The death toll is expected to rise, as the number of people on the bus was unknown. There was no sense of bias in this because it was all facts.
This is an awful tragedy. I can't believe this happened. I never actually expect things like this to happen until they happen because you never expect accidents to happen. I wonder why the bus skidded. I want to know if maybe the weather was bad or if there was an actual crash. The reason I want to know this is because maybe if we find the cause, then we can prevent it from happening next time. Either way, I hop the death toll doesn't rise.

  2. This is so terrible! I agree with you, Jack. I hope they find ways to prevent things like this from happening again like building fences or concrete walls in front of places that are a possibility of driving off the road.
