Deadly mushrooms served as part of meal that kills 2, officials say - Jack VanGorden

Australian officials stated that a meal containing the world's most deadly mushroom, death cap mushrooms, has killed two people in Canberra. The meal was served at a restaurant on New Year's Day. A directorate said in a statement that the mushrooms were served in a private meal and NOT served to the general public. Since the incident, the restaurant has remained closed. The restaurant states that the deadly mushrooms were mistaken for edible ones. The chef, now dead, made the meal for three friends at a Chinese bistro. I want to know why these deadly white cap mushrooms were even in the restaurant in the first place. This makes me nervous to think about what restaurants are serving me.

  1. That is scary that they had no idea a very deadly mushroom was in the kitchen. It makes me more cautions about where and what I eat else where.

  3. I agree that it's very scary. I'm also curious about why those mushrooms were in the restaurant to begin with.

  4. I agree I would be scared to not knowing what I thought to be my food is not. They really need to be careful on all these imported foods and everything else, just double check.
