During his usual morning jog in training for a triathlon, he accidentally ran into a kangaroo, not too far away from a nature preserve. Scared and confused, the kangaroo attacked, leaving some bruises and deep cuts along his left leg. "It started hopping around, it was a bit panicked. I ducked for cover and
ended up on the ground. The kangaroo jumped on me in its attempt to get
away.", he said about the encounter. He later got a ride to a medical center to get his cuts cleaned out and got a tetanus shot as well. "Like most animals, when frightened, they'll lash out quite hard," he added.
I'm glad nobody was too badly hurt in this encounter and that the kangaroo didn't have any rabies or diseases. I'm also glad he took it lightly, and didn't blame the animal for his injuries or their mutual run-in.
