Carnival Cruise Line has already gotten a lot of bad press this year. In February, passengers in the Gulf of Mexico had to endure horrible conditions when their boat was set adrift, including reports of human waste running down the walls. This time, two passengers were reported missing after going overboard 10 miles off the coast of Australia. The couple was staying in a room with family, and the police say that the first clue was "they had not claimed their luggage." Even with things looking grim, the police still remain optimistic saying they will "pull all the plugs on this one."
This article shows that a bad year for a company can seriously impact its ability to compete economically, thus shifting the balance to one of its competitors. Carnival has had a year of bad press, which will probably make people wary to use their product, and this will create new economic opportunities for other companies, which will have economic effects on the world.

Oh no. I hope they find them.
ReplyDeleteThat is just awful. I can't believe how badly this cruise line is doing this year. They should always check to be sure that all passengers are on board so that people don't go missing. I would never want to ride in this cruise line because I would never feel safe. The way this cruise line is performing is giving plenty of other cruise lines chances to take customers and gain more money. I hope these people are found soon.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to seriously hurt Carnival again after their first scare.
