An Italian soccer coach has called for stronger action against the racist fans in soccer stadiums. A top-level match was between AC Milan and Roma was suspended after racist chants had gone a bit too far on Sunday. Mario Balotelli, Milan's striker, had racist chants thrown at him all throughout the match. Referee Rocchi called the game to a stop to warn the crowd to stop their abusiveness via public address system. After the delay, the match continued and resulted in a tie, 0-0. Milan's coach said that the warning had not been strong enough. Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri later said the official's decision was not strong enough."In my opinion, there's only one solution to racism in stadium and that's suspend the match," Allegri said. "To get rid of this stuff in our stadiums, you have to make big decisions. It could penalize some people but in the long run it would help us to grow as a nation and become more civilized."
This is totally unacceptable. All sport players and fans of sports are always taught to have good spirit and to respect others. What the fans did, was a little too obnoxious and I have no doubt that a lot of feelings were hurt. This probably had affected the performance of the players, and that is totally unfair. Fans in the stadium should always stay positive no matter what and should not take their cruelty and anger on the other team. The same goes for the teams, team members, and coaches.

This is awful and disrespectful!
ReplyDeleteSome people take games way too seriously and try to hurt the other team members. I hope if this occurs again, the referee will suspend the match immediately.
ReplyDeleteWow! You'd think people would be past that by now! Just ridiculous!
