Dallas Firefighter Trapped and Killed by Madeline Ibarra

This morning, Monday the 20th, a Dallas firefighter was trapped in a six alarm blaze at a condominium complex. the trapped man has been identified as Stanley Wilson. On a typical scale, fires do not reach over a five alarm blaze, which means the most ladder truck, hoses, police men, ambulance, and response teams are sent to the sight. This case was marked as a six alarm blaze because they had a missing and trapped man at the scene as well as an out of control, ongoing fire. The cause of Wilson's death has not been determined yet, but it is believed to maybe be from suffocation. Two other firefighters have been taken to hospitals for injury and two local residents where treated on site for smoke inhalation. At least 5 residents from the building were saved from the fire.
I heard about this report on the radio this morning, and I thought that it was shocking and sad. The fire started as early as 4am and the first responders were the ones who saved the most people but also took the most damage. To know that we have these kinds of heroes in our city and willing to risk themselves for our safety makes me feel a little safer in this messed up world. For the family of Mr. Wilson, I hope that they understand that he died a hero and saving other lives.

  1. This must motivate people to have a emergency plan for theses types of situations because it makes the firefighters job much easier.
