Two People Rescued After Helicopter Crash by Corsica Steding

A helicopter crashed into the ocean by Mechanics Bay on Auckland's waterfront today with one pilot and one passenger on board. It began to sink upon impact.  A New Zealand navy vessel transferred them to a police launch. They were later assessed for minor injuries and their current condition is unknown.  It is though that the crash was due to a mechanical failure.

The author of this article is not stated, but it was written today.  Before reading this article I hadn't heard of specific incidents where this happened.  This article was written to inform anyone interested in what happened.  It's amazing that the two people on the helicopter were saved so quickly.  I can't imagine how scary it would be in a helicopter and crash in the ocean.

  1. There are too many accidents due to mechanical failures. I wish there was a simple fix to this problem.
