Shark Attack by: Rachel Devine

The beaches in Australia closed down after a 24 year old man was killed by a brutal shark attack. Witnesses say that they saw the man, who was surfing, get bit in half by a 5 meter long shark. The man's name is still unknown. Statistics show that there is always 1 fatal shark attack each year, but this is the fifth deadly attack along the western coast in 10 months. Marine life experts believe that the increase of people in the waters has attributed to the increase in attacks. If the shark is found, authorities plan to kill it.

This article is so scary to me. It's sad to think about how young the man was and how much he didn't get to accomplish. The odds of this happening are very slim, but this just goes to show that freak accidents do happen.

  1. I thought sharks didn't attack unless they were provoked...

  2. They don't wait until provoked. They attack when they are hungry. We are just a happy meal to them.

  3. This is a very disturbing story but by going in the ocean we are entering the shark's territory so we need to be mindful of that, he probably just mistook the man for a seal
