Recently, there was a huge mistake made in Whole Foods involving the addition of meats to vegan meals. According to the article, the labels on the chicken meals were switched, one being chicken and one being a vegan substitute. It happened in five locations: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Maine, and Massachusetts. It was a major issue for the people, not only because it was involuntary, but because something like this could majorly affect their health. If people had been vegetarian or vegan for a long time, they would not be used to consuming animal meat. That being said, when they eat it, they could get very ill or get food poisoning, etc because their digestive systems are not equipped for the breaking down of these foods any longer. This is shocking to hear because Whole Foods is known for always being on top of what they serve their customers and always having the best of the best, but I suppose mistakes happen to the best of us. This article was written by Cindi Avila and was shocking to hear. It was very informative and I did sense some bias towards the vegan side, but it was understandable. I think this article was written for the vegans and vegetarians of the areas listed previously so that they can know about what happened and made sure that they didnt consume it as well. All in all, I hope they solve this problem quick so it never happens again to these people.
