Death Threat Texts by: Rachel Devine

Many Australians have been receiving text messages saying that they had 48 hours to pay $5000 or "death is promised." The police are saying not to panic, don't respond, and delete the message immediately. Authorities are still investigating, and they say that past hoaxes have occured in west Africa. "They rely on your fear," says a policeman. People are worried that the criminals will be back again if their efforts prove to be profitable enough.

I think this is so scary. If this happened to me, I don't know what I would do. I hope the crime in Australia stops and that nothing serious will happen because of these texts.
