Videos of cattle cruelty in Egypt were posted online. This
led to investigations. Questions wondering why this footage was just only
recently surfaced have risen. Also, Australia refuses to ship any more live
animals until the holding conditions in Cairo are brought to the standards seen
fit. All livestock trade between the two countries has halted and there is a
current amount of 3,000 imported cattle in Cairo and Egypt has to manage the
livestock it has.
Until the expectations for animal treatment have been met,
Cairo won’t be receiving any more livestock from Australia. This is going to
really hurt Cairo economically. I wonder how long it’s going to take for Cairo
to get everything together. It’s sad that it takes something so drastic to get
a country to check their morals.
