Kenyan intelligence warned of Al-Shabaab threat before mall attack
Summary:
A number of Kenya's Cabinet members and defense officials were warned about the possibility that the terror group Al-Shabaab was planning to carry out a Westgate-style attack a year before gunman stormed the Nairobi mall, according to several police and intelligence sources. According to officials Al-Shabba sent out several threats across regions of Kenyan. The mall was already a target for an attack, for it is favored by westerners and tourists. Military doctors said that the terrorists tortured hostages, such ad militants severed hands, cut off noses, and in some cases hung hostages. Many family members are still unsure if loved ones are still alive. This is a a horrible situation and I truly hope this will never happen again. Nobody deserves this type of torture and grief, especially innocent people.
Analysis:
This situation in my opinion is just too horrific to even read about. Just hearing about hearing about these innocent people being held hostage bring tears to my eyes. The security around the world really needs to step it up! What else is it going to take to open everyone's eyes? My prayers go out to the loved ones of the hostages and people affected by this horrific incident and I hope this never happens again.
