Chinese fishing boats sink, 74 people missing by Josie Blossfeld

Summary: Today, during the storm named "Typhoon Wutip", three Chinese fishing boats sank in the South China Sea. 74 people remain missing, 14 survivors having been rescued noon today. 60 total people have been found dead in the capsized ships.

Analysis: This is a terrible tragedy that has taken place, and I hope the loved ones of the fishing crew members can at least know what happened to their relatives soon so that they might find closure. Though I understand it was mostly due to severe weather problems that the ships sank, I still think they should fix the ships and warning alarms to benefit from this. It will make it so that it is easier for the crew to be able to reach a safe distance from the boat (so that the suction caused when the boat begins to sink doesn't pull them under).

  1. They should have better safety procedures/warnings/gear at hand for a situation like this, so that nobody would be harmed.

  3. This is awful. We need to find some sort of equipment, or security protical, to prevent this many fatalities for when a situation like this happens again.

  7. This is terrible, I hope that they can find the other 74 people that are still missing. Maybe they will find some better device that will help them with the really bad weather over there.
