Navy Yard shooting by: Bella Morris

Yet another tragic story... Today, September 16, 2013, 12 innocent people lost their lives. 14 people Injured, in Navy Yard shooting that took place today in Washington D.C. Witness state that "fire alarms were blaring through out the building, people were running and screaming for their lives", how awful. The motive of this shooting has not been discovered.

In my opinion, this should be enough for Obama to take away gun privileges. How many shootings have to happen until he does? People may say they are buying a gun for something other than killing, but their motives are unlikely. This needs to stop, too many innocent lives and family's breaking apart because of one law that can be changed in a second. My prayers go out to the victims and their family's.

  1. This is so sad! Especially since this is so close to 9/11. Even if a law was out in place taking away guns, people would still have them and the attacks might happen more often because people feel the need to rebel. I agree that guns should be taken away, but it's just not that easy.

  3. This is awful! I think guns should be taken away, especially when all these shootings are occurring. It might not solve the problem, but it might make it at least a little bit better. The gun laws and requirements to own a gun should at least become a little stronger. My prayers are going out to the families of those in the shooting!

  4. I don't think guns should be taken away, I believe that the obtainer of the gun should have serious background checks into previous legal and health issues. The shooter was a schizophrenic so he had no business handling a fire arm, but I believe that if guns where allowed on military bases this situation would have gone a lot differently.

  5. I do not agree that gun should be outlawed if the person wants to kill someone they will do it whether they have a gun or not they could just as easily use a kitchen knife and what is Obama going to do then outlaw kitchen utensils

  6. I agree with this! I'm not sure that guns should be taken away completely, but I also believe they should have more thorough background checks and tests to see the person buying the gun's mental health, to make it so that only responsible people can own guns. People that own guns should also keep them locked up securely, because their child or whoever wanted to could always just take it from them instead of buying one themselves

  7. This is very sad but i don't think we should take guns away. If we outlawed guns the only people that would have them would be outlaws, by this I mean that the only people this would affect would be the people using guns responsibly. I think the government should be putting in place psychological screening not gun laws.

  8. I dont think guns should be taken away completely because they might need to be used for self defense but it is aweful that someone would abuse the privledge to own a gun by killing others with it

  9. I wish all this shooting and killing would just stop. Why can't people just be at peace? Or at least be at peace with their own country. I don't look forward to future shootings, and I believe that they're only going to become more disastrous and happen more often if we don't do something about them soon. I'm not sure what we should do, but hopefully someone will think of something.
