NASA's Voyager leaves solar system Andrew Tunell

Launched in 1977 Nasa's voyager has recently left our solar system and is the first manmade object to leave our solar system. It is about 19 billion miles away from our planet. NASA origionaly sent Voyager to Jupiter and other planets, but after that it kept going in space at around 38,000 mph. The exact date that voyager left is not clear because the barrier of our solar system is several thousand miles wide NASA says that it started its process of leaving around last august. Voyager has very outdated technology and it takes 17 hours for voyagers signals to reach earth it also includes a 8 track tape recorder and a 68 kilobyte computer.

I think this event is extremely important, it shows that even with out the space program being funded we are still making progress. Also I think this is a big step in science and could be as important as the first man on the moon. This gives us new information about the space around us are we are already making new discoveries from it.
